a word from our parents

"My son started with the nursery at 8 months old and has settled in extremely well, from day one he has been happy to see the nursery staff on a daily basis and is always content. The nursery staff are very friendly and give us lots of information about his daily activities, which we love to see."
Louisa A
"We highly recommend Little Cedars Nursery at Heathfield Knoll, the team are always keen to support our child’s key development stages (such as potty training), there is a wide range of activities with different monthly themes and most importantly our daughter can’t wait to go in every morning."

Samantha L
"Our son was very clingy but the staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure he was settled and happy and also to offer us much needed reassurance that he was ok. Thanks to their approach and their kind, caring and empathetic nature, he settled quickly and is loving his nursery journey."

Our New ASA Programme is LIVE!

We launched our exciting new After School Activities programme for 2026–27 back in July, and bookings officially opened on SchoolBase yesterday.

There is a huge range of activities on offer this year, with something for everyone. Alongside popular favourites, we have an enhanced focus on Netball and Football, with dedicated match opportunities and fixtures planned for pupils who take part.

There is plenty more to choose from too, including The School Production, Jujutsu, FootGolf, Elevate Rugby sessions, Bebras, Coding, Music Tech and our new Korean Language Club, to name just a few.

Activities begin in the first full week of term, from Monday 7 September, so now is the perfect time to look through the programme and plan ahead.

Head to SchoolBase to explore the full programme and book your child's places. With so much on offer, we can't wait to see our pupils getting stuck in.

Heathfield Knoll School celebrates strong GCSE and BTEC results

Heathfield Knoll School is pleased to share that the class of 2026 achieved very pleasing results in GCSE and BTEC. 85% of all GCSE grades awarded were grades 9 to 4, and a third of all grades achieved were awarded at grades 7 to 9. Including BTECs, pupils on average achieved one grade higher than their national baseline prediction.

Commenting on the results, headteacher Lawrence Collins said: “We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11s. These results reflect the pupils’ hard work and the support of their staff and families. We are incredibly proud of every pupil and wish them every success as they take their next steps.”

The Great Outdoors is a Classroom Too

The summer holidays are a great opportunity to slow down a little. Not every day needs to be filled with activities, plans and places to be.

Sometimes, giving children the freedom to head outside, explore and work out what to do for themselves can be just as valuable.

Give children space outdoors and they will naturally explore, investigate, create, take risks, solve problems and work things out. A stick becomes a fishing rod, a fallen branch becomes part of a den and a patch of woodland becomes an entire world to explore.

This is one of the reasons outdoor learning is such an important part of life at Heathfield Knoll. Our HK Outdoor Learning Awards, running from Reception through to Year 4, encourage pupils to explore our wonderful grounds, develop practical skills and build confidence, resilience and perseverance along the way.

So, as the summer holidays begin to wind down, don't worry too much about filling every minute.

Sometimes, all children really need is a little space.

And they might just be about to learn something
