The Owls experience at Little Cedars
(3 - 18 months)
Little Cedars offers a calm, caring and sensory-rich environment designed for babies aged 3 to 18 months. Every aspect of the setting supports emotional security, early development and gentle exploration.
Free play and sensory exploration
Babies engage with a wide variety of age-appropriate toys, books and sensory resources. From soft lighting and textures to calming music and visual stimulation, every detail encourages early curiosity and connection.
Messy play experiences
Activities like water play, painting and sensory bags allow babies to explore textures and materials safely, supporting cognitive development and fine motor skills.
Nutritious snacks and bottle routines
All feeding routines are based on individual needs and parent preferences. Our team follows your specific bottle routines carefully — including baby-led weaning where preferred. Babies who have moved onto solids will receive a delicious and nutritious two-course meal consisting of pureed vegetables and soft finger foods. Snacks and meals are made with care, using age-appropriate foods and allergen-safe practices.
Nap time
Babies rest in a quiet, comfortable sleep space that's optimised for nap time. Staff follow individual sleep routines for each child. Staff monitor the sleep room, an activity that is logged every few minutes, to ensure each child is safe and settled.
Outdoor time and gentle walks
Babies enjoy daily fresh air in our safe outdoor play spaces and on woodland walks in buggies. These moments support physical awareness, stimulate the senses and offer valuable exposure to nature, from rustling leaves to birdsong and glimpses of wildlife.
Trained and caring staff
All team members are trained in paediatric first aid, food hygiene, health and safety and infant care, ensuring babies are always in safe, knowledgeable hands.
Our nursery age groups
At Little Cedars, we structure our nursery into four distinct age groups. Each one is designed to support your child’s development with age-appropriate activities, spaces and routines.

A gentle, nurturing environment focused on building secure attachments, sensory play and daily routines. Babies benefit from consistent care and responsive interactions that support early child development.
