More Than Just Academics: Our Unique Differentiators

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our 30 acres of stunning woodland and grounds provide the perfect setting for outdoor learning. This isn't just a fun activity; it's a core part of our curriculum that inspires curiosity, builds problem-solving skills, and helps develop self-esteem and confidence.

Specialist Teaching from Day One

From Reception, our pupils benefit from specialist teachers and dedicated learning environments for subjects like Drama, PE, STEAM, Modern Foreign Languages, and Food Technology. This early exposure to a wide range of subjects ensures a well-rounded education.

A Nurturing and Supportive Community

We foster a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels safe to be themselves and be kind to others. Our small class sizes and a focus on well-being and kindness, with excellent pastoral care ensure that children develop life skills in a safe and supportive way.

Smooth Transition to Senior School

Our all-through school model ensures a seamless transition for your child as they progress from the Junior School to the Senior School. This smooth ascent helps to reduce anxiety and maintain consistency in their educational journey.

Learning Through Our Junior School Years

Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of our children and community, fostering a culture of "Thriving Together" through knowledge, nurture, and enrichment. We provide an enriched curriculum delivered through quality first teaching, which is designed to make learning meaningful.

Reception: The Foundation for a Lifetime of Learning

Our Early Years provision sets solid foundations for the development of the whole child, with a focus on early literacy and maths skills to ensure they are school ready. The curriculum is based on the seven areas of learning of the Early Years Foundation Stage , and we aim to build a writer in every child by focusing on developing fine and gross motor skills, articulation, and vocabulary. We use stories and experiences from the wider world to make the curriculum engaging and relevant, with opportunities for practical, first-hand experiences.

Years 1 & 2: Building Confidence and Key Skills

In Key Stage 1, our creative topics immerse children in high-quality texts and vocabulary to foster a love of reading. We follow a science backed and proven phonics program with daily sessions to ensure children become fluent readers. The curriculum covers core subjects, including English, Maths, Science, Art, and Design, and we actively promote fundamental British values like democracy and individual liberty. Our pupils also have access to laptops and iPads to develop computational thinking and online safety skills.

Years 3 - 6: Mastery and Personal Growth

As children progress, our curriculum is sequenced to ensure a clear progression of knowledge and skills across all subjects and is guided by timely and effective assessment. In these crucial years, we build on the foundations laid in the earlier years, covering a broad and balanced curriculum that includes English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Computing, and Modern Foreign Languages. As an independent school, we are not restricted by the National Curriculum and go beyond it to provide a rich and varied experience. We encourage pupils to embrace their interests and challenge themselves, with regular assessments used to track progress and provide support, rather than SATs.
