Early Years Easy Home Learning

⭐ Easy home learning today ⭐ With the community out and about looking for rainbows, why not make your own colour baskets/trays/boxes? They are so simple to make. Set up in a calm place away from other over-stimulated colour areas to really make a full impact. Try and use different textured objects, and fabrics, scarves and bangles and so on, not just toys. Try and accompany the tray with a storybook too, you can set this aside for quiet time/story time or snack time.  The children will revisit this activity throughout the day.  ⭐ Extend the activities by adding water – we think of water play and we assume it has to be quite a deep water set up, truth is children love even just a trickle of water???? add some of your objects to water and let them be curious about how they change when wet, or float and so on. Remember children’s lungs can be flooded by as little as a teaspoon of water. Always supervise water play. ⭐For our Preschool children, start with an empty basket/box/tray and play a colour finding game. Give them a colour and ask them to go around looking in the house and their toys then bring back to the box something that is that colour – pop it all on the tray and let them be proud of what they have found. By doing this activity it will show you what colours your child needs to focus more on.  Again you could add what they have selected to the water, sand or soil. It will wash away.  Don’t forget to send us pictures of your children ‘getting creative and having fun!’ Please send any pictures to marketing@hkschool.org.uk.
