Values Assembly

The whole school took part in an important assembly. Pupils were invited to share in the discussion about our school values – Enrich, Challenge and Prepare. Each of these words were broken down and discussed by pupils and staff. Pupils were keen to share the enrichment opportunities they experience at Heathfield Knoll School including; outdoor learning, team building, sport, music, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, building and sustaining relationships and celebrating successes. When discussing the ways in which they are challenged, pupils recognised that they are seen as individuals and are given opportunities to encourage their development as learners and as citizens. They shared that their thinking is challenged in order for their knowledge, understanding and viewpoints to be developed and recognised that they are free to ask questions to extend themselves. Pupils were keen to share how they are prepared for the future and to suggest how this area could be further developed. They shared their thoughts and ideas on sticky notes which will lead into pastoral and faculty discussions later this term. Pupils recognise that school can prepare them for the future in many ways: “They challenge you and push you till you do your best” “Teaching us kindness”

Thank you.” “Really good after-school activities” “Responsibilities” “Transition Days” “School Trips” “They teach us to help people” The assembly was a wonderful celebration of all that is achieved at Heathfield Knoll School and will help us to develop further, taking into consideration the viewpoints of pupils.
