We are thrilled to announce we have been awarded the internationally recognised Eco-Schools Green Flag award for excellence in environmental action and learning.
Our three topics of Global Citizenship, Waste and Water were chosen by our Eco Committee and Eco Club members in September.
Combining cross curricular links with Enterprise, Mathematics, Science, Languages, STEAM, English and PHSE we have provided a unique range of opportunities for students to learn about sustainability, ecological priorities and worldwide issues within these topic areas, since September.
Students have been encouraged to fundraise for our new Eco-Fund and also to support local charities throughout this green flag journey; something we hope to continue in the future.
Already huge changes across the school have taken place due to our eco schools campaign. Students, teaching and non-teaching staff have all been involved with whole-school improvements including developments in waste management, some exciting new recycling strategies and with national competitions being entered this spring.
