A sound whining at night

A creaking melody 

A muffled cry

“Do not fret, I’m not a fright 

I’m just the night monster

Eating the light

I may have eaten a human or two

But next I will eat you.”

Footsteps ran around the room

You have met your doom

You can see them

You can hear them

A light flickers on

Footsteps carry on

Nobody to match the signs

Now I see the line 

The line that shows non-existence

With a voice and no witness

You are eaten in this instance.
