 Day Nursery & Preschool

Early Years at HKS is designed to provide a seamless transition through school. We offer before and after school care from 0730 until 1800 throughout the year including school holidays, you can find out more about it here. You can find our fees and structure for First Steps Day Nursery here and Preschool here. We believe that we offer a second-to-none experience for your child. Don't just take our word for it, come and visit us, take a look around and find out why happy children are at HKS.

First Steps Day Nursery (3 months - 3 years old)

First Steps Day Nursery is situated in a beautiful, woodland environment within the school grounds and offers child care for babies and toddlers from three months to rising three, at which point their learning journey continues into Preschool.

Our highly qualified and experienced Day Nursery team have an excellent understanding of how children learn through exploration and play. Children are well cared for and staff encourage them to be active learners, independent thinkers and promote their curiosity in an environment where children’s safety and well-being is paramount. Our friendly and approachable nursery staff communicate effectively with parents, enabling them to understand what is happening in their child’s day and how their learning and development is progressing. Preschool (3 years – 4 years)

Our Preschool offers the very best transition into Reception Class. Pupils develop and learn in a dedicated environment suitable to the next stage of their learning. They will start to broaden experiences and horizons by trying new things; we believe that exploration is the best way to learn. Staff plan and adapt inspirational activities that meet the individual needs of each child, indoors and outdoors. Children begin to access a more structured curriculum and work closely with Reception and Lower School to maintain continuity of care. We believe it is important to create strong parent partnerships; working together will ensure that children reach their full potential. Click here for more information.
