This week Mrs Sterry invited a guest speaker to discuss his art journey with pupils from Year 7 upwards. Lee Valentine, currently AEC technical sales specialist for Cadspec Ltd has been passionate about art from a young age. He discussed his schooling sharing projects from GCSE, Art College and University where he received a 1st class with honours in 3D design. Mr Valentine inspired the pupils with his sculpting and spatial design work that he completed while a freelance artist after university before settling into his current role working with Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
When asked about his style of art Lee said “I don’t have one. I have always been curious about art and how different mediums work. Exploring art and how it is formed is something I have always enjoyed. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I didn’t explore my creativity and take Art at GCSE.”
Mrs Sterry said “I just want to thank Lee for coming in and speaking with the pupils. He shared a fantastic presentation and showed how his skills developed from his education to his career as well as some pieces he produced for his own enjoyment. A really interesting session enjoyed by all.”
