I joined Heathfield Knoll in Year Six so I’ve been here for six years. As soon as I joined, all the pupils in my year and teachers made me feel welcome and I quickly made friends.
Heathfield Knoll has definitely prepared me for the future, and as much as I am nervous for the next chapter in my life I feel I have gained many useful skills to help me through it.
It’s been really tough this last year with remote learning. I think the hardest thing was having to motivate yourself every day and have to keep pushing yourself to work hard. Both staff and pupils adapted well to the huge change to teaching. Teachers’ lessons continued to be engaging and interesting which allowed pupils to stay focused on their studies. I think online learning taught me to be more resilient and independent.
It’s really difficult to choose my best memory of school. But a definite favourite moment of mine was our Duke of Edinburgh expedition. Even though D of E was extremely challenging and we got lost more times than I can count, I thoroughly enjoyed it and do not regret doing it at all. I’ll never forget everybody being completely exhausted yet we were still laughing and giggling with each other. We argued with each other too,and I think a few tears were shed, but I definitely believe it bought us closer as friends.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Heathfield Knoll and have made memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to all of the incredible teachers who have helped me along the way and all my amazing friends who have supported me during my time here.
