Earlier this year pupils were chosen to sit a one-hour multiple-choice paper aimed at the highest achieving young mathematicians in the country. Only the very top scoring are awarded certificates which recognise their mathematical reasoning, the precision of thought and fluency.
Samuel and Charlie in Year 11 received a Bronze and a Silver certificate in the UKMT Intermediate Mathematics Challenge earlier this year. Jack, also in Year 11, received a prestigious Gold certificate and qualified for the follow on round. Meanwhile, Benjamin (Y9), Arthur (Y9), Finley (Y8) and Alfred (Y7) were due to represent us in the UKMT Team Mathematics Challenge earlier this month. We are proud to support the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust and encourage you to visit their website https://www.ukmt.org.uk/ where you can find lots more information. We are therefore happy to donate this year’s team entry fee to help the UKMT continue their outstanding work. Well done to all the pupils and the staff at the UKMT for all their hard work.
