HKS would like to introduce you to a new member of the family

“Hello everyone. I am Mrs Hayward, the new Director of Music at HKS. I’ve 2 small boys who are looking forward to joining the Nursery and Preschool when normality returns and 2 cats. I like to go on walks in the countryside with my husband and sons and spend time cooking, reading and gardening when I get a spare moment.  I’m in my eighth year of teaching and I’ve taught secondary and primary music in state and independent schools. I play trumpet (that’s my first instrument) and piano, sing, and basic violin and guitar. I love all music styles but Big Band Jazz is my absolute favourite. I am really looking forward to meeting you all in real life and getting our new Music Department up and running!”

In her spare time Ms Hayward plays trumpet with the Wyre Forest Big Band, during these uncertain times they have joined together to create a full band performance to help raise money for the Friends of the Worcester Royal Hospital (WRH), this organisation is run by volunteers who purchase much needed equipment for various departments at the hospital. Recently they purchased 50 Oxometers which are vital in the battle against COVID-19. Friends of WRH are a non profit organisation so every penny raised is spent supporting Nurses, Doctors and Patients. Ms Hayward along with the Wyre Forest Big Band have recorded a virtual video of “Love is Here to Stay” to honour all the front line workers at WRH.
